No!! .. If I saw someone for the first time at the first sight, what would I be attracted to? Of course his look! Because I have seen nothing of his personality to be attracted to! .. And love is definitely not that shallow, it shouldn't be physical-related you know. But there definitely is "like" at first sight .. So, someone might like somebody at the first sight, and then as he gets to know the other more, he falls in love with the other, then that's love .. So, maybe the ones who said there's such a thing as love at first sight were lucky enough to love someone they liked at the first sight
No. Love at first sight is just a myth, you cannot truly love someone without actually knowing them, and if you could it would not be magical and beautiful, it would be shallow and physical. gives no depth in the relationship.
I think people are compatible with a lot of different people, I do not buy the whole 'One perfect person' thing. Out of all the millions of people you can always find someone better, and someone worse, but you will probably never meet them because the world is so big.
Hmmmm, I found most the class had no opinion XD (damn lazy students!) The ones that did changed the meaning of 'Love at first sight' to 'The potential to fall in love eventually at first sight'
My teacher believes in love at first sight, she was very 'spiritual' believed in that kinda thing.
The discussion happens after reading a story in class called Stones, I complained that the writer was to lazy to actually build on the relationship of the two characters so he just used love at first sight as an excuse to move things along faster.
'The potential to fall in love eventually at first sight' that's a good point ! .. My comment to this poll was: "If I saw someone for the first time at the first sight, what would I be attracted to? Of course his look! Because I have seen nothing of his personality to be attracted to! .. And love is definitely not that shallow, it shouldn't be physical-related you know. So it's being lucky to eventually fall in love with someone you liked at the first sight that counts actually .. Nice discussion ! And I really hate it when writers tend to build love stories out of first sights, they don't even give the characters enough time to actually "fall" for each others!
I agree with your comment, the whole love at first sight was probably someone who was attracted to someone, then ended up falling in love with them, and mistaken that attraction for love.
Just need to ask someone, at first sight would they be willing to sacrifice themselves for that person? If No, then its not love, if yes... well its kinda a creepy obsession XD To many issues go along with love at first sight, the person you fall for might kill babies in his/her spare time XD
Haha xDD I can image that creepy obsession! Like someone sees another for the first time and he's like I'll sacrifice myself for you, he's definite1y killed any opportunity for the other side to love him back by saying that! That'd be too damn creepy xDD Oh yes xD You might then fall for a murderer, criminal, thief,rapist,.. It's not as romantic as they show in movies you know xD

We were recently having a debate about this in my English class
